Welcome to BSPS Area 6.

The British Show Pony Society (BSPS) was set up in 1949 and promotes the showing of ‘The Childrens’ Riding Pony’ through Show Pony, Show Hunter Pony, Working Hunter Pony and Heritage Mountain and Moorland classes held at competitions across the country.  For full details of the society and how to join please visit www.britishshowponysociety.co.uk Other societies which promote the same type of equestrian competition are The National Pony Society and Ponies UK. Area 6 covers the counties of Warwickshire, Worcestershire, Staffordshire and the West Midlands.  We hold four affiliated shows a year, usually hiring out the very extensive facilities of Solihull Riding Club.  We also aim to encourage other local shows by sponsorship and keep the spirit of our smaller traditional shows alive.

Your committee meet regularly to organise the shows, liase regarding social events like the Points Presentation and create other diary dates such as ‘Teach Ins’ which provide free and valuable expertise to our members through professional instruction.  Again comments and suggestions for social events are welcome through the website or the committee

AIMS AND OBJECTS OF AREA COMMITTEES

1.To improve the showing of children's ponies in the Country in Show Pony, Working Hunter Pony, and Show Hunter Pony Classes.

3.To develop and search for new members and aid recruitment.

4.To encourage existing members, and give them in the broadest sense an idea of what the B.S.P.S. really has to offer.

5.To encourage potential Judges, Stewards and Course Builders by organising Conferences and Teach-Ins.

6.To encourage Junior Members by organising Instructional Courses, Teach-Ins, etc.

7.To give members an opportunity to get together in their own Area and discuss problems common to us all, and to put forward suggestions for the betterment of the B.S.P.S.
